PAPHOS - ELLADOS AVENUE AND GRIVA DIGENI WILL BE COMPLETED THIS WEEK AND HANDED OVER TO TRAFFIC

Two important sections of Ellados Avenue and Griva Digeni are being completed this week, and are being given to traffic, according to Paphos Mayor Phaedon Phaedonos.

In a post on Social Media, the Mayor of Paphos said that the works remain and the inconvenience is gone while expressing his sympathy for the suffering of the citizens.

The major project for the Improvement of Ellados Avenue and parts of Evagoras Pallikaridis, Neophytou Nikolaidis and Griva Digenis Avenues, has a total cost of €9 million, plus VAT. Already, Neophytou Nikolaidis Avenue has been given to traffic. The Mayor of Paphos referred to the importance of the project, stressing that its implementation will contribute substantially to the enhancement of commerciality in the area, as well as to the aesthetic and functional upgrade of the city.

He explained that in the context of the implementation of the project, it is planned to create on Ellados Avenue about 300 parking spaces, as well as dozens of other spaces on the other avenues, the construction of two roundabouts and safe sidewalks, the undergrounding of cables of all services, tree planting along the streets, etc.

Finally, he pointed out that the terms of the contract include provisions to facilitate traffic during the works, while the contractor will have the obligation to ensure access to the residences and business premises.
