The demand for drinking water has increased exceptionally in recent days, according to an announcement by the Water Development Department.
The Department warns that the mass movement of population from large urban centres to coastal and mountainous tourist areas, especially during the three days of August, may cause serious problems in the water supply in some areas.
Therefore, the Water Development Department appeals to consumers to use water sparingly and to avoid its reckless use.
"The Water Development Department is making every effort to meet the increased demand," the statement concludes.
