HE STOLE VARIOUS ITEMS AND TRIED TO SELL THEM AT A MARKET

The Police proceeded with the arrest of a 61-year-old resident of Paphos, in order to facilitate the investigations into an investigated case of house burglary, and theft. The 61-year-old was arrested today on the basis of a court warrant, after several valuables were found in his possession, which were identified as the products of theft.

Specifically, on July 28, 2022, it was reported to the Police, by a 48-year-old resident of Paphos, that between the dates of July 15 and 28, unknown persons broke into his house and stole various objects of value, such as silverware, lighters and old coins.

As part of the investigation of the case, members of the Paphos ICF, after evaluating relevant information, went today to an open-air bazaar, in a village in the District of Paphos [Timi], where a 61-year-old man was found exhibiting for sale old objects. During an investigation that followed, the 61-year-old was found in possession of a number of old and collectible coins and banknotes, jewellery and valuables, which were identified by the 48-year-old as objects that had been stolen from his home.

A judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 61-year-old, under which he was arrested in the early afternoon today and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.

The ICF Paphos is investigating the case.
