An inspection of more than 170 points nationwide, in order to identify and withdraw dangerous children's clothing, will be carried out by the Consumer Protection Service on the occasion of the start of the new school year, as part of a campaign during the periods of August 29 to September 9 and October 3 to November 14.
In a statement about the campaign, the Agency notes that the presence of cords in children's clothing poses a serious risk to children, since these can cause serious injuries and even deaths. He adds that many accidents have been recorded during children's activities, due to trapping the laces of clothing on slides, doors, trees and other places.
Finally, it states that the Agency will continue to inform consumers with the aim of protecting their health and safety more effectively.
As part of the campaign, the information leaflet entitled: "Children's Clothing – Advice to Consumers", which contains detailed information on the safety of children's clothing, is available on the www.consumer.gov.cy Service's website.
