28 DEATHS [3 IN THE WEEK IN QUESTION], 5,472 NEW CASES - 29 July to 4 August

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of July 29 - August 4, 2022 there were three deaths from coronavirus, while 5,472 new cases were detected.

Specifically:

  • A total of 28 deaths were announced, 3 in the week to which the announcement relates, and 25 that were reported late to the Health Monitoring Unit.
They concern:
  • Woman, aged 82, who passed away on 31/07/2022
  • Man, aged 55, who passed away on 01/08/2022
  • Woman, aged 92, who passed away on 01/08/2022
  • Woman, aged 70, who passed away on 27/01/2022
  • Man, aged 65, who passed away on 30/01/2022
  • Man, aged 54, who passed away on 31/01/2022
  • Woman, aged 88, who passed away on 04/02/2022
  • Man, aged 81, who passed away on 11/02/2022
  • Woman, aged 82, who passed away on 13/02/2022
  • Woman, aged 88, who passed away on 21/02/2022
  • Woman, aged 45, who passed away on 03/03/2022
  • Woman, aged 91, who passed away on 06/03/2022
  • Woman, aged 78, who passed away on 07/03/2022
  • Woman, aged 84, who passed away on 12/03/2022
  • Man, aged 74, who passed away on 28/03/2022
  • Man, aged 77, who passed away on 06/04/2022
  • Man, aged 88, who passed away on 06/04/2022

  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1143.
  • 71 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • 10 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/7 intubated, MAF: 3)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 84,505 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 5,472 new cases were detected (total cases 568,383).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 6.48%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,341 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 359 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 10.75%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 81,164 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 5,113 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 6.3%

 Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed and 1 positive case was identified (positivity rate 33.33%)

Private initiative:

  • 2,854 molecular tests were performed, 269 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.43%)
  • 58,956 rapid antigen tests were performed, 4,709 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.99%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 22,208 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 404 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 12,930 rapid detection tests, 262 positive cases identified (positivity rate 2.03%)

Other

  • National Guard: 793 rapid antigen tests were performed and 20 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.52%)
  • Nursing homes: 5,622 rapid antigen tests were performed, 84 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.49%)
  • Closed facilities: 2,863 rapid antigen tests were performed, 38 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.33%).
