2,130 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - 11-18 August

Three coronavirus patients have died in the last week in Cyprus, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, according to the announcement, 2,130 new cases were identified with the positivity rate amounting to 4.48%.

Specifically:

3 deaths reported

They concern:

  • Man, aged 65, who passed away on 14/08/2022
  • Man, aged 68, who passed away on 14/08/2022
  • Man, aged 92, who passed away on 17/08/2022
Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,152.
  • 73 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • 15 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/7 intubated, MAF: 8)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 47,532 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,130 new cases were detected (total cases 574,124).
  • Positivity rate in total tests 4.48%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,402 molecular tests were performed
  • 206 positive cases were reported
  • Positivity rate 8.58%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 45,130 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,924 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4.26%

 Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,936 molecular tests were performed, 145 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.49%)
  • 29,882 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,842 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.16%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 15,248 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 82 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 8,686 rapid detection tests, 45 positive cases identified (positivity rate 0.52%)

Other

  • National Guard: 293 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive case was identified (positivity rate 0.34%)

Care homes: 4,093 rapid antigen tests were performed, 22 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.54
