POLICE CONTROL CAMPAIGN ON TRUCKS AND BUSES - wef 18 July

From tomorrow Monday until next Sunday, members of the Police, in collaboration with members of the Department of Road Transport, will carry out traffic and mechanical checks of trucks and buses, as part of the European campaign for the enlightenment and control of motor vehicles ‹ROADPOL›. The aim is to prevent road traffic collisions and to increase safety on the road network.

Specifically, during the traffic checks, the following will be checked:

• The documents of drivers and vehicles

• The speed at which vehicles move

• Speed limitation devices

• Driving/working hours

• Tachographs (analog and digital devices)

• The mechanical condition of the vehicles.

According to an announcement by the Police, this campaign (3rd for this year) will be conducted in parallel and at a Pan-European level, by the member countries of the European Traffic Police Network "Roadpol".

This week of actions (July 18-24, 2022) also includes information on the risks caused by the non-compliance of truck and bus managers with the current legislation, but also the intensification of traffic checks for violations committed by truck and bus drivers.
