Another important step for the achievement of its strategic goal for the transformation of Paphos into a Smart and Digital City is being taken by the Municipality of Paphos with the launch from Friday, July 1st, of the smart parking management system, in the framework of the co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus project "Supply, installation and maintenance of a smart parking management system for the Municipality of Paphos".
This project is expected to contribute substantially to the upgrading of the services provided by the Local Authority to the citizens and visitors of Paphos since through the Pafos Smart Parking application [app - Paphos Smart Parking], which was created within the framework of the project, they will have the ability to check the occupancy of the parking spaces in real time, the ability to receive guidance to the parking spaces, as well as the possibility of payment in alternative and easy ways.
For the purpose of implementing the system, the area of the city of Paphos was divided into Zones. It is noted that the system includes parking spaces located both in organized Municipal Parking Spaces and on roads (roadside). In order to fairly charge the users of the system, the following have been set that will apply from July 1:

Zone B: Leontiou, Mousallas, Nikos Antoniadis, Apollonos, Salaminos, Dasoudi, China Park, Koubilai Street
Zone C: 25th Martiou, Thermopylae, Zenonos, Vladimirou Heracleous, Grigoris Afxentiou, Nikodimou Mylona, Gladstonos, Nikos Antoniadis, Paphos Chrysanthou, Poseidonos Avenue, Leoforos Tombs of Kings, Apostolou Pavlou, Eleftherios Venizelos, G. Griva Digenis Avenue

Users have at their disposal the following alternative payment methods:
Through the application. The user can in this way pay for exactly as many minutes as he has parked.
By SMS. By sending a message to the number 9191 there will be a charge of €1 per message. The user is charged to the mobile phone bill. An agreement has been reached with Cyta, Epic and Primetel (Primetel from 14 July).
Machines. With payment to existing coin-operated machines for a reasonable transitional period.
With the monthly parking card:
Option 1: €25 for Zones A and B except for the Municipal Library and the area on Kanari Street. The purchase of the voucher is made through the Pafos Smart Parking application.
Option 2: €50 for all Zones. The purchase of the voucher is made through the Pafos Smart Parking application.
Option 3: Social exclusion avoidance card for people over 65 years old - €25 for all Zones. The purchase of the card is made at the Citizen's Service Center (KED) located in the parking lot of the "Stelios Kyriakides" Stadium.
The app is available on Android and iOS and can be downloaded from Google play and App Store respectively.
