PAPHOS POLICE - A BUSY WEEKEND WITH ARRESTS FOR VARIOUS OFFENCES

Arrests for a series of offenses, from possession of military equipment to theft of oil from a tank, included the police bulletin of the Pafos district over the weekend.

A couple was detained in a case of illegal possession of explosives and illegal possession of property. According to the Spokesman of the Paphos Police Department, Michalis Nikolaou, members of the force under a court warrant searched a residence where a 41-year-old man lives with his 33-year-old wife. During the investigation, four cartridges of a military firearm were found.

The 41-year-old and the 31-year-old were arrested for the offence of illegal possession of explosives. In addition, a small amount of methamphetamine was found in the residence, as well as property for which the couple did not give reasonable answers as to its possession. The two were also arrested for the offence of illegal possession of property.

In another case, a 68-year-old resident of Paphos reported the theft of his cheque booklet and that ten of them had been released forged. Also that a sum of money of 5,290 euros had been extracted from his account.

The examinations carried out by the Paphos Police and in cooperation with the 68-year-old revealed testimony against a 36-year-old woman, who was arrested on Sunday and taken into custody. The examinations are continued by the ICF Paphos.

The Paphos Police also dealt with another case of complaint, in which a person was stealing oil from a tank in private property. The examinations revealed evidence against a 40-year-old man, who was arrested and taken into custody.
