It's unbelievable, but true: 24 hours after three balconies collapsed from an apartment building in Paphos' central Kennedy Square, another balcony collapsed suddenly today, this time in the coastal area of Kato Paphos.
The new accident took place at the junction of the coastal Avenue Poseidonos with a lane at the height of the Municipal Bathrooms for an as yet unknown cause. The balcony collapsed just before noon and fell to the ground, dragging along with it shading structures of a recreation centre located on the ground floor of the building.
Several patrons were sitting in the recreation centre at the time, two of whom were injured and transported by ambulance to Paphos Hospital. Police and Fire Brigade forces rushed to the scene and began investigations to rule out the possibility of injured people under the rubble, but also to start examining the causes that caused the new collapse of the balcony in Paphos in just 24 hours.
