The SHSO proceeded with the upgrade of the software of the Max Tomographer (MRI) at the Radiology Department of the Nicosia General Hospital.
In an announcement of the organization, it is noted that this upgrade provides the possibility of performing iron load tests in thalassaemic patients, Breast MRI, Intestinal Tract MRI (enterography) and Liver elastography MRI.
As mentioned, both the medical and paramedical staff of the Radiology Department participated in special training programs aiming at the excellent provision of these specialized examinations.

The SHSO reports that the Radiology Department of Nicosia General Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which covers the entire range of tests currently performed in Radiodiagnostics.
"A key part of the Radiology Department is the Interventional Radiology where it receives a particularly large number of invasive procedures (more than 1500 per year), with the possibility of hospitalization of patients in the hospitalization department of the Radiology Department", it is noted.
The Department, the SHSO points out, is also staffed by well-trained medical, paramedical and nursing staff particularly experienced in dealing with any cases, as for many years it handles the heaviest cases in Cyprus which are hospitalized in the only quaternary hospital in our country.
