An e-mail for the subsidy of protective equipment will be received by motorcyclists who were approved through the electronic lottery for the relevant plan of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. A total of 2,629 applications had been received for the sponsorship.
An announcement by the Ministry states that the 153 applications concerned a grant for protective equipment for low-powered motorcycles (license type A1) for which the available allocation is €100,000 and the maximum number of approvals was set at 200 applications. Therefore, he adds, the 153 applications will immediately receive preliminary approval to proceed with the purchase of equipment after the necessary certificates and declarations have been submitted.
As for high-power motorcycles (licence type A and A2) the available allocation for 2022 is €250,000 and the maximum number of approvals was set at 500 applications. To this number will be added the 47 applications from the sponsorship scheme for low-power motorcycles. Therefore, the total number for which the electronic lottery was held is 547 applications for approval.
The Ministry notes that the results of the draw have been posted on the website http://www.motosafety.gov.cy/ which interested parties can visit for more information regarding the process of completing the application as well as for all the necessary supporting documents that must be attached.
The relevant e-mail, it is stated, will be sent to all successful candidates, from the e-mail address ~motosafety@mcw.gov.cy to the e-mail address they have stated in their application.
