On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Sunday, March 20, 2022 and for a period of five months, in the section of the highway from 500 meters before the exit to Tseri past the Idalio Industrial Area and for a distance of approximately 2 kilometres, construction work will continue of the perimeter highway of Nicosia. Traffic on the Nicosia – Limassol highway in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia and from Nicosia to Limassol will be conducted in 2 traffic lanes in each direction and the lanes will be shifted to the eastern side of the existing highway. Traffic from the exit of industrial Idaliou to the Tseriou bypass will be uninterrupted, while the traffic from the Tseriou bypass to Nicosia via the highway will be closed. Traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia will be conducted via the old Nicosia - Limassol road from the JCC light-controlled intersection. It is noted that the above arrangement will last for a period of approximately 5 months.
On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, work will be carried out to improve the Kornos interchange. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the interchange on the western side of the highway, for entering the highway from Kornos/Pyrgas to Nicosia and for exiting from Limassol to Kornos/Pyrgas, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the eastern side, from Kornos/ Pyrga to Limassol. Works on the Nicosia-Limassol highway will also be carried out in the period 9/5/2022 – 31/10/2022, excluding weekends, for the installation of emergency doors on the central island of the highway from Alhambra to Germasogeia at twenty (20) points . During the works, the right traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed in sections of 100m. approximately at each point and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lanes. On the sections of the Nicosia-Limassol highway, 1000m. approximately after the entrance from Sia to Limassol and 1000m. approximately after the entrance from Akti Kyverniti to Limassol, on Monday 11/7/2022 until Thursday 14/7/2022, from 18:00pm until 06:00am the following day, emergency exit installation work will be carried out on the Central Island of the road. During the works, the right traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed, in sections 200m long approximately and the traffic will be in the adjacent left lanes. In the Erimi - Petra tou Romiou section, on the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the period 26/6/2022 - 25/7/2022, on weekdays only, between the hours of 09:00 - 16:00, bush pruning and collection operations will be carried out of waste within the central island, by a private contractor. During the works, the right traffic lane will be partially closed in both directions, for a length of 1000m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the slow lane. On highways in the province of Larnaca, in the period 27/6/2022 – 4/8/2022, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets, by the Department of Forestry: (a) Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 17:00, on the Larnaca – Ayia Napa and Larnaca – Nicosia highways, from the Airport roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and then towards Nicosia, (b) Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08:30-17:00, on the Larnaca - Kofinou highway. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions, for a length of approximately 1500 m each time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.In the section of the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, approximately 500m long, from the light-controlled junction to the Kalos Chorio roundabout, in the period 11/7/2022 – 12/7/2023, between the hours 07:00 – 15:00, periodic road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, both traffic lanes in the direction of Larnaca - Kofinos will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the secondary roads using an appropriate marking.
On the section of the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to the exit for Alethriko, in the period 13/07/2022 – 22/07/2020, between the hours 07:00 – 15:00, every day except Saturdays and Sunday, periodic road maintenance work will be carried out. During the execution of the works, both traffic lanes in the direction of Larnaca - Kofinou will be partially closed at a distance of 3 km. approximately and traffic will always be diverted to the oncoming traffic stream, which will operate in two-way traffic. On the Larnaca - Ayia Napa highway between Larnaca Airport and the Rizoelia roundabout, and on the Larnaca - Nicosia highway between the Rizoelia roundabout and the Overground Bridge beyond Lymbia village, in the period 27/6/2022 - 4/8/2022, between from 08:30 - 17:00, every day, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, pruning operations will be carried out on the central islet by the Department of Forestry. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed from both directions, for a length of 1500 m each time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the section of the Larnaca - Ayia Napa motorway, from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, in the period 4/7/2022 - 10/8/2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30 every day except weekends, there will be from the Department of Forestry, watering the trees on the slopes of the highway in both directions to Ayia Napa and to Larnaca Airport. During the works, part of the highway shoulder will be closed, in sections over a length of 100m. approximately per time. On the Larnaca – Kofinou highway between Larnaca Airport, the Kalos Chorio roundabout to Kofinou, in the period 27/6/2022 – 29/7/2022, between the hours of 08:30 – 17:00, every day, excluding weekends, pruning operations are being carried out on the central islet by the Forestry Department. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions, for a length of 500 m each time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the Aradippou area, in parts of Eleftherias, Australasia, Acropoleos, Hellas, and Griva Digeni avenues, in the period 07/07/2022 – 05/08/2022, between the hours of 0800 – 1300, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets , from the Municipality of Aradippou. During the works, the tangential traffic lane will be partially closed from both directions for a length of 100-200m. about every time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the province of Larnaca, on the road from the area of Kosi to Athienou, from Wednesday 6/7/2022 until Friday 8/7/2022, between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, local repair work will be carried out on the asphalt road surface . During the works, one lane will be partially closed from the junction with the road to Lymbia up to 700m. approx., after the roundabout at the entrance of the village. Traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using STOP & GO signs or traffic lights. In the district of Nicosia, specifically in Deutera, on Griva Digeni Avenue, Anthoupoli – Paleichori road, from Friday, May 27, 2022 and for a period of five (5) months, construction work will be carried out on a roundabout at its junction with Agia Marina Street. During the works, traffic from Anthoupoli to Palaichori and vice versa will be diverted through a temporary bypass road of approximately 300m length. The junction of Griva Digeni Avenue with Agia Marina Street will be closed and drivers from Palaichori to Deutera are urged to use the previous exit towards Anagyia – Pano Deutera. In Limassol, specifically in Germasogeia, at the junction of Christaki Kranou Street and Daidalidon Street, until 13/8/2022, roundabout construction works will be carried out. Also in Limassol, until Monday July 11, works will be carried out to install storm drains in the courtyard of the Frederick University and in a section of Mario Agathangelou and Petraki Giallourou Streets, in the area of Agios Georgios Havouzas, in the Municipality of Limassol. During the works, Petraki Giallourou and Marios Agathangelos streets up to the entrance of Frederick University will be closed to traffic. Also in Limassol, on Viktor Hugo Street, from its junction with Orfeos Street to 16th June Street, as part of the construction works of the Great Flood Protection Project of the Center of Limassol, rainwater drainage works will be carried out. The work will last until Friday, July 22. On Navarinou Street, from its junction from the roundabout of Eleftherias Street to the traffic lights of Irini Street, also within the framework of the Great Flood Protection Project of the Centre of Limassol, from Thursday June 30, rain gutter installation works will be carried out. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, September 5. In Paphos, in the Geroskipou area, from Tuesday, April 5, 2022, until Monday, March 6, 2023, the connecting road B6 - A6 (Limessos - Paphos), will be closed to traffic, due to roundabout construction works on Kinyra Street in Geroskipou. During the works drivers and pedestrians will be able to use a temporary detour that has been constructed for this purpose. On the road Mandria - Platra, in the period 28/6/2022 - 11/7/2022, between the hours of 07:00 - 17:00, every day except Sunday, road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed for approximately 100m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane and traffic will be managed with the “STOP & GO” system. On the old Paphos-Limassol road, from the period 7/2/2022 – 7/9/2022 (for 7 months), at the junction of Ippokratous Street with the old Paphos-Limessou road (Makariou Avenue 3), in the Municipality of Geroskipou , road improvement works will be carried out by the Paphos Public Works Department. During the works, the roads will remain open and traffic to/from Geroskipou will operate according to the temporary road markings. Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, the eastern road that connects the road to the port of Vassilikos will be closed to traffic during the period 23/4/2022 – 23/10/2022, as part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road of the Vassilikos Energy Centre Network. During the works, all traffic to and from Vassiliko will be diverted to the corresponding westbound road, through the Community of Mari. The traffic of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent streets and residences will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements.
