LAYING OF FOUNDATION STONE FOR CUT BUILDING IN PAPHOS POSTPONED

Filenews 9 July 2022 - by Dora Christodoulou

The ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone for the CUT facilities in Paphos, which was scheduled for July 13, is postponed. As announced by the Municipality of Paphos, the postponement is due to the obligations of the President of the Republic, who will lay the foundation stone, in relation to the visit of the Chancellor of Austria to Cyprus on that day.

In Paphos, however, everything is ready for the ceremony when it is rescheduled, since the tender that was announced with an Open Tender for the construction of the school's building facilities has already been awarded. The municipal authority has awarded the project to a specific company in Paphos for an amount of about €14 million, an amount of 30% above the pre-estimate of expenditure.

The buildings of cut in Paphos will be erected on the block allocated for this purpose by the Municipality, in the framework of the Agreement signed with the CUT last November in the area of the church of Panagia Pantanassa and in which the new Municipal Mansion that began to be built by the municipal authority had remained unfinished since 2014. The estimated estimate of expenditure for the CUT projects in Paphos amounted to approximately 11 million euros.

The Project is expected to be co-funded by the European Union under the "THALEIA" Program 2021-2027.
