The plans for the on-call clinics of the GHS were changed again, since only a few days before their opening, the Ministry of Health, SHSO and HIO agreed that the paediatricians who will be on duty will not offer their services to the Health Centres but to the hospitals in which they serve.
For personal doctors for adults, the planning does not change and they will be on duty in the premises of the Health Centres of the SHSO. As agreed at a new meeting held yesterday, the on-call clinics will operate on July 9, and before the HIO a program was set until the end of July, which includes only personal doctors for adults and paediatricians of the SHSO.
The planning for the month of August will take place afterwards, although there are already fears that both private doctors of the GHS and doctors of the state will be difficult since many of them will already be on summer holidays. By Friday, the HIO is expected to release the details of the places where the on-call clinics will operate as well as the phones that citizens will use to arrange appointments during the weekends. At the same time, citizens will also be informed about when to visit an on-call clinic and when the Accident and Emergency Departments.
