Music, theatre and art. That is how we could sum up July’s cultural agenda as performances thrive throughout the island, festivals are about to kick off and concerts fill the cities with melodies. Somewhere in between all of that are several art exhibitions hosting work by groups of artists. July is the month of group art exhibitions.

In Paphos, Psifida Gallery will host another exhibition with an important message. The For Akamas exhibition is an initiative of a group of artists and highlights the close connection between culture and the environment. With this action, people in the arts and culture sector are seeking to mobilise the public and strengthen efforts to prevent one of the biggest environmental disasters ever caused in our country by human hands. The exhibition runs from Friday to July 30.

Isnotgallery in Nicosia is hosting a brief charity exhibition titled Tunnel Vision. Between Thursday and Sunday, the gallery will present artwork by five Ukrainian artists who created the pieces in May 2022 while staying in Argaka, Paphos. They were successfully presented in Limassol in May and now they arrive in Nicosia.

On each day of the exhibition, Viktoria Velychko, the founder of Velychko gallery organising the exhibition, will host guided tours at 2pm and 6pm addressing the senses and meanings of the paintings reflecting the current situation in Ukraine. The artwork is priced at €140 to €8,000 and part of the proceeds raised will be directed to support special initiatives in Ukraine and Ukrainian people affected by the war.

The coastal town of Larnaca also has a group art exhibition going on. Since the beginning of the month and until July 29, nine artists are presenting their work at The O Gallery as it hosts the Summer Group Exhibition. Welcoming art enthusiasts from Wednesday to Sunday, the exhibition presents the work of Alexandra Mantzari, Alexandra Taoukidou, Antonis Tziarrides, George Georgiou, Marilena Iakovou, Nikolas Antoniou, Spyros Agathou, Stavros Ditsios and Vasilis Matosian.
