SEVEN NEW PLANS UNDER RECOVERY PLAN ANNOUNCED BY MINISTRY OF ENERGY

Another seven plans will be announced by the Ministry of Energy in the near future, in the context of the implementation of the Recovery Plan, through which Cyprus will disburse €1.2 billion. Five projects are already running and a total of three projects were implemented last year. According to data from the Ministry of Energy, seven new sponsorship plans are expected to be announced soon, which concern:

- Plan to save - upgrade to businesses and other bodies, with a budget of € 40 million. The plan will be launched later this month and will be financed by the Recovery Plan.

- Sponsorship plan to encourage the use of renewable energy sources and energy saving in homes 2022-23, which will be announced later this month. The budget of the project is €20 million and will be financed by the Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Saving Fund (EXE).

- This December will be announced the plan to save - upgrade in the houses, with a budget of € 35 million. The project will be financed by European Structural Funds.

- Plan for the digital upgrading of businesses, with a budget of €30 million (successive calls for €10 million are planned, the first is expected later this month and the funding will be through the European Structural Funds and the Recovery Plan).

- In July, the Plan to support large enterprises in the manufacturing sector will be announced, with a budget of €7 million. The Plan will be financed by the Recovery Plan.

- In September, the Advisory Service Plan for small and medium-sized enterprises will be launched, with a budget of €5 million. The plan will be financed by the Recovery Plan.

- Between October and November, the Plan to strengthen the circular economy in industry will be announced. The budget will be €13.3 million. and will also be covered by the Recovery Fund.

In the meantime, five projects are currently under way concerning:

- Sponsorship plan for the creation, modernization and digital upgrading of units for the processing and/or marketing of agricultural products, with a budget of €25 million.

- Sponsorship plan for the installation or replacement of solar systems for the production of domestic hot water in residences, with a budget of €600,000.

- Sponsorship plan for the installation of a photovoltaic system for the charging of an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle type PLUG-IN, with a budget of €1.5 million.

- A sponsorship plan to encourage energy upgrading by local authorities and bodies of the wider public sector. The budget of the project is €9 million.

- Sponsorship plan for the replacement of energy-intensive electrical appliances to vulnerable electricity consumers. The cost of the project is estimated at €5 million.

It is worth noting that the first plan will be covered by the Recovery Fund and the remaining four will be financed by the RES and EK Fund.

Moreover, the Ministry of Energy is in the process of evaluating the applications submitted in the context of the call for proposals of last year's three projects. These are projects aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sector and other targeted economic activities, with a budget of €50 million. They also concern plans for new business activity and I save - upgrade to the houses with a budget of €30 million and €35 million. After the evaluation of the applications, the ministry is expected to send the relevant approvals.
