PAPHOS - TRAFFIC CONTROL REVEALED DRUG AND BURGLARY ACTIVITY

The police arrested a 22-year-old Syrian resident of Paphos on Friday night to facilitate investigations into an investigation into a case of drug trafficking and illegal possession of property.

Members of the Police stopped the car driven by the 22-year-old for inspection on a Pafos road and during the inspection a nylon bag was found and seized, which contained a quantity of methamphetamine, weighing five grams, a precision scale, the amount of €1,710 and a five-pound note.

The 22-year-old was arrested for an offence, and a search of his home was subsequently made, pursuant to a court warrant. During the investigation, a nylon bag was found and seized, containing a quantity of three grams of cocaine, various electrical and electronic devices, cameras, paintings and other valuables, for which the 22-year-old did not give a satisfactory explanation of how they were found in his possession.

The foreigner was taken into custody and investigations are continuing to determine the extent of the drug trafficking as well as the burglaries and thefts in which the suspect is believed by the authorities to be involved.
