Slightly below the European average are the years of healthy life for men and women in Cyprus. According to data from the European Statistical Office (Eurostat) for 2020, healthy life years for women in Cyprus are 63.1 compared to 64.5 in the EU, while for men in our country healthy life years are 62.5 compared to 63.5 in the EU.
Sweden, Malta and Italy have the highest rates of healthy living for both men and women. Specifically for women, the healthy life expectancy in Sweden is 72.7, in Malta 70.7 and in Italy 68.7. For men, healthy life expectancy in Sweden is 72.8, in Malta 70.2 and in Italy 67.2. In contrast, Latvia had the lowest number of years of healthy living for both women (54.3 years) and men (52.6 years).
In Spain, the same number of years of healthy life was recorded for both women and men.
