The "transitional period" for the restructuring of the aircraft fleet of the AEGEAN group could be characterized in 2022. This is due to the expected receipt of a large number of Airbus A320 NEO family aircraft for AEGEAN (estimates are 12 by the end of the year) and the restructuring of the Olympic Air fleet (from Q400 to ATR72-600). By the end of this year, AEGEAN, which at the end of 2021 had 9 aircraft of the Airbus A320 neo family, is estimated to receive 12 new aircraft in 2022, 7 in 2023 and 9 in 2024, with a horizon of 46 to 2026. The arrival of new, more efficient aircraft is expected to contribute to the improvement of unit costs, especially from the first half of 2023, where most of the fleet will consist of aircraft, either new technology or with new more competitive conventional terms of use. New technology engines result in a 15% reduction in fuel consumption per flight and 19% -23% less carbon dioxide emissions per passenger compared to the previous generation Airbus ceo aircraft. It is noted that, at the end of 2021, the fleet of the AEGEAN group numbered 65 aircraft, of which 50 jets on behalf of AEGEAN and AEGEAN Cyprus and 15 turboprops for Olympic Air. In 2021, the AEGEAN group received 1 Airbus A321 neo aircraft and 1 ATR 72-600 aircraft. In total, from the end of 2019 until the end of 2021, AEGEAN received 9 aircraft of the Airbus A320 neo family. 15 million available positions in 2022 and 8 bases Regarding the 2022 program, AEGEAN will allocate a total of 15 million positions, operating from 8 bases. For the next months of the summer season, AEGEAN continues the gradual increase of capacity, with the final goal in July and August to have marginally higher levels of capacity in kilometer positions compared to 2019, with the positive contribution of increased capacity from the base of Thessaloniki , but also from the two main airports of Crete. In total, the company will operate from its 8 bases in Greece and abroad, in 133 destinations in 41 countries with regular and charter flights. After the addition of Florence and Bari, the destinations of Italy in which AEGEAN operates reached 8 (Rome, Milan, Bologna, Venice, Catania, Naples, Florence, Bari). Respectively, after the addition of Cologne airport, the destinations of Germany amounted to 12 (Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin, Hannover, Nuremberg, Cologne, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden).
