At the attention of the Electronic Crime Subdivision is the new deadly "game" on a digital Social Networking platform, where abroad it has even caused loss of human lives of minors.
In a communication between philenews and a competent source, we were told that so far no incidents have been recorded in Cyprus, nor complaints about attempts regarding the new trend, but also about previous correspondingly fatal games between minors. However, the Electronic Crime Subdivision is monitoring the developments and is on alert.
It is worth noting that in this test users are asked to cause brain hypoxia in themselves, through suffocation practices, in order to temporarily lose consciousness and then when they come back to upload the relevant video to the social networking platform.
In an intervention in Active, the academic Elizabeth Curti, explained that trials like this have an impact on the health or loss of children's lives, while at the same time she called on parents and teachers to seek and learn about these platforms and discuss with their children, preparing them for similar risks.
The academic invited parents and teachers to first learn the specific applications, wake up and then discuss with their children, watch some videos together and prepare them for the dangers posed by such tests.
At the same time, as we were mentioned, the Subdivision of Electronic Crime, receives daily a fairly large number of complaints about incidents of intimidation, insults and other actions by users of social media. As far as their handling is concerned, in those cases related to criminal offences they follow the course of justice, while otherwise advice is given to the complainants.
