The ‘classic’ Mikis Theodorakis
After a very successful and emotional concert – tribute to the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis that took place at Markideio Theatre last December, the three young and talented musicians Marianna Georgiou (pianist), Georgia Zachariades (voice) and Kyriakos Costa (adaptations/orchestrations) return at Technopolis 20 garden with a full orchestra this time and a richer programme, on Friday, 3rd of June 2022.
Piano and voice will be enriched on stage by Giannis Koudounas on trumpet, Andreas Zinonos on violin and Miranda Papaneokleous on cello.
Seize this occasion to hear classical pieces of Theodorakis that are rarely performed, like the Preludes for piano, as well as famous songs of the composer from Epitaph, Mauthausen, Axion Esti and Small Cyclades, all given a classical approach, through the composer Kyriakos Costa’s arrangements, specially prepared for these series of concerts. A concert where the music of a great composer is rediscovered and presented on a new approach.
Once again, this musical proposal is completed with a visual intervention by the graphic designer Alexander Sebastian Ignatiou who follows the musical path of Mikis Theodorakis, transforms it and presents its through his own artistic perspective. The combination of live music and video installation, in the open-air screen and beautiful garden of Technopolis 20 will create an unforgettable music experience with a deeply emotional atmosphere.
