The MP of the DIKO of Pafos, Chrysanthos Savvidis, together with the MP Christos Orphanides, held today a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Yiannis Karousos, during which they were briefed on various bills pending in the Parliamentary Committee on Transport.
Mr. Savvidis focused on the chronic problems of the road network of the Pafos district and has been informed by the competent Minister that the upgrading of the road network is now on track for implementation.
"More specifically, as far as the road leading to Petra tou Romiou is concerned, a date has been given for the completion of its reconstruction by the end of July", he stressed. ''It is worth noting that the repair of the road network by Giolou is expected to be completed in September.
Regarding the road network by Nata, we were informed that it is in the process of evaluating tenders.
Moreover, regarding the road near Drousia, the last day of completion of the tendering process is June 9th."
According to Chrysanthos Savvidis, during the meeting, Yiannis Karousos stressed that he himself supports the project of constructing breakwaters on the southwest coasts of the municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou.
In addition, he said, he will visit Paphos in early June to discuss the issue with all stakeholders.
