The Municipality of Pafos took another step closer to the implementation of the strategic goal of transforming the city into Smart and Digital, against an additional expenditure of  €10 million. This is the direction of the tender that has been announced for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of an integrated system of smart water resources management and water metering.

The estimated cost of the project is  €9.8 million and the duration of implementation is 36 months. The terms of the Competition are posted on the electronic system of the Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus.

The new system will effectively contribute to reducing loss, improving quality and providing equal water availability. It will include, among others, the implementation of a system for the prevention and detection of leakages, the installation of 27,000 smart water meters of high accuracy and automatic metering reading, the implementation of a system for monitoring, controlling and fully automating the water supply network and the implementation of an automatic chlorination system.

This new system follows the installation recently of another "smart" system concerning parking in all parts of the city, while the implementation of projects for modern and "smart" public transport is now expected.
