To date, 12,553 people have been vaccinated with the 4th booster dose of coronavirus vaccine while vaccinations continue daily in vaccination centres in all provinces for people over 60 years of age, said Deputy Director of Nursing Services Evagoras Tambouris.
He said the percentage of the adult population who are fully vaccinated stands at 86.7%. So far vaccinated with the 1st dose of vaccine, 667,253 people, with the 2nd dose, 644,117 people, with the 3rd dose 471,093 people.
Vaccination in the ages of 5-11 years who received at least one dose amounted to 10.8%, in the ages of 12-15 years who received at least one dose in 51.2% and in the ages of 16-17 who received at least one dose at least 61.2%.
Asked if there are any vaccine reserves, Mr. Tambouris replied in the affirmative, noting that more doses of Pfizer vaccines are expected in the summer.
When asked if preparations are being made for the Fall when we will have mass vaccinations of the general population, he said that "we have vaccination centres per province that can serve a large number of people per day and overtime can be assigned to nursing staff from the hospitals."
