After the city of Pafos, Chloraka and Emba, the incidents between foreign residents of Arab origin reached Tremithousa. According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Department, Michalis Nikolaou, on Wednesday night information was received that there was an injured person on a street in the community in question. A Police patrol went to the scene where members of the Pafos ADE spotted a 43-year-old resident of the area carrying injuries.
The 43-year-old said he was there with some of his friends when two of his compatriots aged 49 and 23, accompanied by a third, unknown person, attacked him and beat him.
The police investigations brought to light economic differences between the Syrians involved in the fight. Specifically, according to Mr. Nikolaou, the complainant allegedly owes a sum of €1,000 to the 49-year-old, from buying and selling a car.
The suspect began demanding his money and together with the 23-year-old and the unknown person beat him on Wednesday night with their hands and feet as well as with an iron fist and at the same time asked for their money. The three then got into the car to depart when the complainant followed them and took away their car keys. The three persons were then forced to leave the scene on foot and leave their car which was picked up by the Police.
The complainant went to Paphos Hospital where the on-duty doctor diagnosed that he carries a contusive wound over the right eyebrow.
Police examinations continue by the Pafos ICF, while arrest warrants were issued against the three people and they are wanted.
