Tourism Deputy Minister Savvas Perdios on Friday said Cyprus and Jordan have agreed on joint tourist packages possibly on offer as from this season.
Talking from Amman where he is on a working visit, Perdios also told the Cyprus News Agency that the prospects are more than positive.
And that the concept of joint tourist packages began in 2019 but had stalled due to Covid-19.
The aim is to attract visitors from the United States, Canada, China, Japan and France.
Data collection, analysis, and consultations took place intensively for months between the two countries.
“There is strong interest and we have decided to start from where the Covid-19 pandemic had stopped us,” Perdios also said.
“The authorities of both countries have agreed on most issues and what’s left now is the effective implementation of the joint packages,” he added.
All coronavirus restrictions have recently been lifted in Jordan, and this is expected to also be the case in Cyprus soon.
