3,444 NEW CASES AND 12 DEATHS - 29 April to 5 May

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of April 29 - May 5, 2022:

  • 12 deaths reported
They concern:
  • Woman, aged 95, who died on 04/12/2020
  • Woman, aged 85, who died on 08/04/2021
  • Man, aged 63, who died on 05/09/2021
  • Woman, aged 80, who died on 28/03/2022
  • Woman, aged 86, who died on 11/04/2022
  • Man, aged 95, who died on 13/04/2022
  • Woman, aged 84, who died on 15/04/2022
  • Man, aged 89, who died on 29/04/2022
  • Man, aged 84, who died on 30/04/2022
  • Man, aged 89, who died on 30/04/2022
  • Woman, aged 91, who died on 30/04/2022
  • Woman, aged 82, who died on 30/04/2022

Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 1,027.

  • 60 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 16 in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of snorkel/6 intubated, PPE: 9)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 43.34%
  • 12 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 354,720 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 3,444 new cases were identified (total cases 483,664).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 0.97%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 12,049 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 417 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 3.46%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 342,671 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 3,027 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 0.88%

 Tracking:

  • 190 molecular tests were performed and 10 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.26%)

Private initiative:

  • 5,090 molecular tests were performed, 297 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.83%)
  • 153,975 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,925 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.25%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 188,696 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,102 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 132,789 rapid detection tests detected 1,018 positive cases (positivity rate 0.77%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 24,902 rapid antigen tests, 24 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.1%)
  • Secondary Education: 18,249 rapid screening tests identified 20 positive cases (positivity rate 0.11%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 409 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.49%)
  • Special Schools: 1,029 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 5,843 rapid antigen tests were performed, 35 positive cases identified (positivity rate 0.6%)
  • Closed structures: 5,450 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.06%).
  • National Guard: 25 rapid antigen tests were carried out and no new cases were identified (positivity rate 0%).
