The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of 20 - 26 May 2022, two people have died, while 1,774 are the new cases.
Specifically:
- 2 deaths reported
- Man, aged 77, who died on 20/05/2022
- Woman, aged 74, who died on 21/05/2022
- Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 1059.
- 30 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
- 8 in serious condition (ICU: 4 out of snorkel/1 intubated, PPE: 3)
- 10 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 74,539 diagnostic tests were performed
- 1,774 new cases were identified (total cases 489,963).
- Positivity rate in total tests 2.38%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 5,133 molecular tests were performed
- There were 238 positive cases
- Positivity rate 4.64%
Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):
- 69,406 rapid antigen tests were performed
- 1,536 positive cases occurred
- Positivity rate 2.21%
Tracking:
- 91 molecular tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.3%)
Private initiative:
- 3,611 molecular tests were performed, 187 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.18%)
- 57,139 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,445 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.53%)
Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 12,267 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 91 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 3,020 rapid screening tests identified 63 positive cases (positivity rate 2.09%)
Education
- Primary Education: 170 rapid antigen tests, no positive cases detected (positivity rate 0%)
Other
- National Guard: 635 rapid antigen tests were performed and 2 positive cases identified (positivity rate 0.31%)
- Homes of well-being: 3,695 rapid antigen tests were performed, 25 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.68%)
- Closed structures: 4,747 rapid antigen tests were performed; 1 new case was identified (positivity rate 0.02%).
