Paphos welcomes Reshma Shrivastava for a unique performance at the Attikon Amphitheatre in Paphos, Sunday the 8th of May. Reshma headlines an enchanting evening of traditional Indian classical music, alongside an opening performance of evening raags from our local musicians.

We are fortunate to receive Reshma in Cyprus on tour as part of her program for peace in Greece, turkey and Cyprus and the greater regions including Ukraine. Amongst other initiatives Reshma will perform at the Parnassos Literary Society Concert Hall, Athens. prior to her arrival in Cyprus.

Reshma Shrivastava is respected and renowned worldwide, both as a performing artist and guru of Sitar. Born in Allahabad, India to a family of musicians, her father being Tabla maestro and author, Prof Girish Chandra Srivastava.

She has received many distinguished awards, including the most prestigious Academy Award from the Uttar Pradesh, Sangeet Natak Academy in 2016.

 

Reshma has lived and performed in Cyprus in the early 90’s, including for the President of the Republic                                                                                                                                            of Cyprus at that time, Mr Glafkos Klerides. With a vow to return to the land she fell in love with,                                                                                                                                                      she now fulfils that vow.

The Attikon Theatre a renovated building near the Palia Ilektriki Centre on Evagora Pallikarides Street, which was inaugurated in 2019 by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiades, is the site of one of the oldest and most historic cinemas in the city. With an amphitheatre perfect for an enchanting and ambient performance of Indian classical music. Attikon provides a historic and inspirational feel to any event.
