The Geological Survey Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 22:11, an earthquake of magnitude M=4.7 on the Richter scale was recorded by the seismological network of the Department.
The earthquake had an epicentre in the land area, 10 km southeast of the city of Paphos, in the wider area of Pafos - Mandria Airport, with a focal depth of 20 km. The earthquake was felt throughout Cyprus: strongly felt in the districts of Paphos and Limassol, and slightly felt in the districts of Nicosia, Kyrenia, Larnaca and Famagusta. It was also felt in Lebanon, Israel and southern Turkey.
Aftershock sequence is underway, with a noticeable earthquake so far (23:02).
