Two people have died from coronavirus in Cyprus, according to today's announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, 4,349 new cases were identified with the positivity rate standing at 4.52%.
The deaths relate to:
- Man, aged 85, who died on March 31
- Man, aged 62, who died on March 31
- Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 935.
- 195 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
- 25 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/7 intubated, PPE: 18)
- Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 52.31%
- 13 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 96,116 diagnostic tests were performed
- 4,349 new cases were identified (total cases 430,726).
- Positivity rate in total exams 4.52%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 3,335 molecular tests were performed
- 406 positive cases occurred
- Positivity rate 12,17%
Total number of RapidTest tests:
- 92,781 rapid antigen tests were performed
- 3,943 positive cases occurred
- Positivity rate 4,25%
Tracking:
- 351 molecular tests were performed and 48 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.68%)
- 839 rapid antigen tests were performed and 94 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11.2%)
Private initiative:
- 1,654 molecular tests were performed, 313 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 18.92%)
- 39,866 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,570 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.45%)
Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 52,915 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,373 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 17,201 rapid detection tests identified 982 positive cases (positivity rate 5.71%)
Education
- Primary Education: 17,130 rapid antigen tests, 134 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.78%)
- Secondary Education: 9,835 rapid screening tests detected 63 positive cases (positivity rate 0.64%)
- Test-to-Stay: 5,661 rapid antigen tests were performed and 60 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.06%)
- Special Schools: 104 rapid antigen tests were carried out and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
Other
- Nursing homes: 1,386 rapid antigen tests were performed, 34 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.45%)
- Closed structures: 337 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.89%).
- Government Services: 422 rapid antigen tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.71%)
