The Ministry of Health on Saturday announced 3 deaths as a result of COVID 19 and 3,894 new cases. There are 201 hospitalized. The positivity rate stands at 4.89%.
The patients who died are two men, 102 and 91 years old and an 82-year-old woman. The total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 940.
According to the Ministry of Health, of the 201 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, 33 are in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of breath/9 intubated, PPE: 23) and the data show that the percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination reaches 52.74%.
Also, 13 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
A total of 79,660 diagnostic tests were performed and 3,894 new cases were identified with the total number of cases amounting to 436,949.
The total number of molecular tests (PCR) today is 3,193 and 287 positive cases emerged with the positivity rate at 8.99% The total number of Rapid Antigen Tests (Rapid Test) is 76,467 and 3,607 positive cases and a positivity rate of 4.72% were found.
As part of the tracing, 68 molecular tests were performed and 6 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 8.82%), while 930 rapid antigen tests were performed and 98 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 10.54%). From a private initiative, 1,544 molecular tests were performed and 215 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 13.92%) as well as 42,904 rapid antigen tests where 2,271 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 5.29%).
Through the health ministry's programmes, 33,563 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,336 positive cases were identified. At the sampling points, 31,620 rapid detection tests were performed, 1,193 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 3.77%).
Also in nursing homes, 820 rapid antigen tests were performed, 45 positive cases were detected (positivity rate of 5.49%) while in closed facilities 193 rapid antigen tests were performed, no new cases were detected (positivity rate of 0.00%).
