WHAT DOES THE KREMLIN SAY ABOUT A POSSIBLE PEACE AGREEMENT?

 Filenews 15 March 2022

At a time when a 35-hour curfew was announced in Kiev from Tuesday night to Thursday morning, the Kremlin today referred to the possibility of a peace agreement.

The Kremlin announced today that it is too early to make predictions about the likely outcome of the talks between Russia and Ukraine.

"The work is difficult and in the current situation the mere fact that they are continuing is probably positive," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. "We don't want to make predictions. We are waiting for results."

Russia, Peskov said, is disappointed that there has been no public statement from Western officials about the fact he said that more than 20 people were killed in the separatist-controlled city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

Russia yesterday, Monday, accused Ukraine of carrying out a missile attack on the city. Ukraine denied this and stated that the missile used in the attack was Russian.

In Kiev, the civilians and soldiers on foot are prepared for all eventualities, as in recent days the Russians have strengthened the forces and the fear of a generalized attack on the Ukrainian capital has not disappeared.

Russia's military operations against Ukraine are at 20 days with the Russians continuing to pound mercilessly by land and air many urban areas of the country as well as suburbs of Kiev. The battles also rage in Kharkiv and Mariupol.
