Filenews 9 March 2022 - by Dora Christodoulou

The star park is part of the wider project for walking and cycling routes in the area of the community of Arodes in Akamas and the provision for the start of the implementation of the project was included in this year's state budgets. This is what the Prefect of Pafos, Mary Lambrou, says, speaking to "F" and clarifying that there is no delay in the project. The project matured in collaboration with the Community Council of Pano Arodes and private designers, she pointed out, and the necessary licenses were completed in 2021.

"Therefore, provision for the start of the project was included in the State Budget concerning the District Administration of Pafos for the current year," the Paphos district officer said. "The total cost of the project was estimated at €404,000 and the amount approved for a start in 2022 is €200,000 and will be an ongoing project for 2023."

Mrs. Lambrou also referred to the second major project that is in progress in the same community, the Regional Center for Geology and Palaeontology Akamas, which was recently completed with an expenditure of €520,000.

"The exhibits have already been placed in the exhibition area and in cooperation with the Community Council and the Pafos ETAP, we are taking steps for staffing and promotion. In this project there was some delay in the completion of external works due to problems of the contractor that were related to both the pandemic and the weather conditions.
