Seven cases of driving motor vehicles under the influence of drugs arose yesterday during trichonic checks.
Six car drivers tested positive for pre-removal drug tests carried out by members of the Pafos Traffic Police, while the seventh driver was identified during checks carried out by members of the Famagusta Traffic Police.
In addition to the positive result in the narcotest, three drivers (Paphos district) were found to be driving their vehicles without a safety certificate, a driver's license and a certificate of suitability.
The Police recall once again that substances such as drugs and alcohol have been proven to contribute to the reduction of mental and psychological effort made while driving and to the reduction of the performance of the driver's abilities, thus increasing the risk of causing a road collision.
