OPERATION OF NEW AMBULANCE STATION IN KYKKOS AREA

 Filenews 29 March 2022

With the aim of reducing the response time to emergencies, life-threatening situations and faster access to health services for citizens living in mountainous areas, the Ambulance Service of the State Health Services Organization (CYSO) proceeded to the creation and operation of a new Ambulance Station in the Kykkos area.

The new Ambulance Station began its operation on March 21, 2022 and serves the public on a 24-hour basis. It is staffed with specialized staff, who have been trained in Emergency Prehospital Health Care.

The CSO stresses the importance of the operation of this station, which is expected to serve several of the remote communities of the wider region and more than 2,000 residents, recognizing that mainly in matters of rescue, every minute is a lifesaver for survival.

In a statement, the Head of the Ambulance  Service of the CySEC, Riana Constantinou, stressed: "The aim of the Service and the staff that staffs our ambulances is not only not to lose any human life, but also to provide the optimal provision of emergency prehospital health care to all sufferers under any circumstances. In this context, where and where necessary, we proceed to the upgrading of existing Ambulance Stations and / or the creation of new Stations".

The CySEC, the largest provider of health services in Cyprus, continues to modernize and upgrade its services, prioritizing the health and safety of the residents of Pancypria.

It is noted that the Ambulance Service of the CySEC has developed a network of ambulances in 27 different points/strategic locations, based on the number of units in proportion to the population, the geographical distribution and the maximum response time of the ambulances.
