Filenews 23 March 2022
The Commissioner for the Environment, Klelia Vassiliou, referred to this year's Earth Hour, which is next Saturday, stressing that at a critical moment for humanity, which is called to respond quickly to the obligations of the Green Transition at the same time as it is being attacked by the horrors of war, she finds us in collaboration with the Music Schools of Cyprus singing about the Planet and Man.
On Saturday 26/3 and between 8.30 – 9.30pm, we turn off the lights, light candles, and sing with the children of our Music Schools in:
Nicosia – Eleftherias Square
Limassol – Municipal Hall
Paphos – Municipal Hall
Larnaca – Europe Square
Free Famagusta – Ayia Napa Municipal Hall
As the Commissioner stressed, the events are a collaboration between the Office of the Commissioner for the Environment and the Ministry of Education, with the valuable support and presence of the Mayors and Municipal Councils of Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and Ayia Napa, whom I warmly thank for the immediacy in accepting our invitation, as well as their practical support for this year's event, which we hope will become an institution. Many thanks, too, to the teachers involved.
The biggest and most heartfelt thank you belongs to our children - musicians, who will attend and send their own messages, because anyway this world belongs to them.
