4,774 NEW CASES [includes 67 in nursing homes], ONE DEATH - Wednesday 30 March

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 30, 2022:

Announced 1 death

- It concerns:

  • Woman, aged 84, who died on March 29

- Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 933.

-       182 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC

-       25 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/5 intubated, PPE: 19)

- Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 54.95%

-       15 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 83,389 diagnostic tests were performed

4,774 new cases were identified (total cases 426,377).

- Positivity rate in total exams 5.72%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

3,528 molecular tests were performed

462 positive cases occurred

- Positivity rate 13.1%

Total number of RapidTest tests:

79,861 rapid antigen tests were performed

4,312 positive cases occurred

- Positivity rate 5.4%

 Tracking:

393 molecular tests were performed and 71 positive cases were identified [positivity rate 18.07%]

863 rapid antigen tests were performed and 113 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.09%)

Private initiative:

1,903 molecular tests were performed, 327 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 17.18%)

35,485 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,520 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.1%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 44,376 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,792 positive cases were identified.

- Sampling points: 23,346 rapid detection tests identified 1,434 positive cases (positivity rate 6.14%)

Education

- Secondary Education: 10,789 rapid screening tests detected 81 positive cases (positivity rate 0.75%)

- Test-to-Stay: 4,984 rapid antigen tests were performed and 83 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.67%)

- Special Schools: 504 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.79%)

Other

- Nursing homes: 1,308 rapid antigen tests were performed, 67 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.12%)

- Closed structures: 2,582 rapid antigen tests were performed, 10 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 0.39%).
