4,673 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - Tuesday 22 March

Another three deaths and 4,673 new positive cases of the coronavirus, announced the Ministry of Health with the positivity rate reaching 4.92%.

Analytically:

  • 3 deaths reported.  They concern:
  • Woman, aged 53, who died March 21, 2022
  • Woman, aged 70, who died on March 21, 2022
  • Man, aged 92, who died on March 21, 2022

Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 918.

  • 151 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 26 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/7 intubated, PPE: 19)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 52.99%
  • 22 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 94,943 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 4,673 new cases were identified (total cases 387,315).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 4.92%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,772 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 476 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 12.62%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 91,171 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 4,197 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4.6%

 Tracking:

  • 411 molecular tests were performed and 71 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 17.27%)
  • 681 rapid antigen tests were performed and 62 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.1%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,694 molecular tests were performed, 342 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 20.19%)
  • 36,324 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,673 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.36%)

Through the health ministry's programs, 54,847 rapid antigen tests were performed. 1,524 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 16,248 rapid detection tests identified 1,042 positive cases (positivity rate 6.41%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 19,047 rapid antigen tests, 192 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.01%)
  • Secondary Education: 10,574 rapid screening tests identified 105 positive cases (positivity rate 0.99%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 6,158 rapid antigen tests were performed and 96 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.56%)
  • Special Schools: 69 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 1,171 rapid antigen tests were performed, 18 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.54%)
  • Closed structures: 291 rapid antigen tests were performed no new cases were detected (positivity rate 0%).
  • Government Agencies: 608 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.48%)
