4,314 NEW CASES - Sunday 27 March

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 27, 2022, there has been no deaths due to Covid, while 4,314 are the new cases.

Specifically:

  • No deaths were announced.
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 927.
  • 173 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 18 in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of ventilator/2 intubated, PPE: 15)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 54.92%
  • 23 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 82,650 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 4,314 new cases were identified (total cases 410,020).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 5.22%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,122 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 206 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 6.6%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 79,528 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 4,108 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 5.17%

 Tracking:

  • 1,116 rapid antigen tests were performed and 119 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.66%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,403 molecular tests were performed, 146 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.41%)
  • 28,649 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,879 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.05%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 50,879 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 2,254 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 47,820 rapid detection tests identified 2,116 positive cases (positivity rate 4.42%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 65 rapid antigen tests were performed, 4 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.15%)
  • Closed structures: 1,878 rapid antigen tests were performed, 15 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 0.8%).
