2,314 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - Sunday 13 March

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 13, 2022:

  • 3 deaths reported
  • They concern:
    • Man, aged 75, who died on March 12
    • Man, aged 93, who died on March 13
    • Woman, aged 80, who died on March 13
  • Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 902.
  • 107 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 17 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of snorkel/5 intubated, PPE: 12)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 56.08%
  • 21 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 68,993 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,314 new cases were identified (total cases 353,002).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 3.35%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,012 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 164 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 5.44%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 65,981 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • 2,150 positive cases occurred
  • Positivity rate 3.26%

 Tracking:

  • 927 rapid antigen tests were performed and 69 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.44%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,157 molecular tests were performed, 121 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.46%)
  • 27,034 rapid antigen tests were performed, 937 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.47%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 38,947 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,213 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 37,812 rapid detection tests identified 1,139 positive cases (positivity rate 3.01%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 35 rapid antigen tests were performed, no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
  • Closed structures: 173 rapid antigen tests were performed, new cases were identified (positivity rate of 2.89%).
