2,114 NEW CASES, FOUR DEATHS - Friday 4 March

Four deaths were recorded today, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health. Also, a total of 107,650 diagnostic tests were performed and 2,114 new cases were identified (total cases 329,674). The positivity rate in total exams is 1.96%

The deaths relate to:

  • Man, aged 68, who died on March 3
  • Man, aged 83, who died on March 3
  • Woman, aged 79, who died on March 4
  • Woman, aged 90, who died on March 4

Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 873.

At the same time, 137 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, 30 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator / 12 intubated, PPE: 17)

Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 57.67%

16 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,659 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 283 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 7.73%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 103,991 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,831 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 1.76%

 Tracking:

  • 272 molecular tests were performed and 51 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 18.75%)
  • 626 rapid antigen tests were performed and 67 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.7%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,579 molecular tests were performed, 179 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11.34%)
  • 48,563 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,121 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.31%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 55,428 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 710 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 17,124 rapid detection tests detected 432 positive cases (positivity rate 2.52%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 20,607 rapid antigen tests, 87 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.42%)
  • Secondary Education: 11,401 rapid screening tests identified 86 positive cases (positivity rate 0.75%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 3,779 rapid antigen tests were performed and 32 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.85%)

Other

Nursing homes: 871 rapid antigen tests were performed, 4 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.46%)

  • Closed structures: 37 rapid antigen tests were performed and no new cases were identified (positivity rate 0%).
  • Government Services: 890 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
  • Industrial Areas: 93 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.15%)
