The number of vaccinations has decreased significantly in recent days, according to the Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Evagoras Tambouris.
Speaking on state radio, Mr. Tambouris said that the number of daily vaccinations is about 4,000, compared to 12,000 before the Christmas holidays.
He also mentioned that with the first dose, 87.9% of the adult population was vaccinated and with the two doses 84.3%.
Vaccinations of children aged 5 to 11 years are at low levels, said the President of the Paediatric Society, Michalis Anastasiades, stressing that the percentage of fully vaccinated children of this age group is at 4.5% and with the first dose at 9.2%.
Speaking on state radio, Mr. Anastasiades also mentioned that in the age group 12 to 15 years, the vaccination rate with the first dose reached 46% and with the two doses to 42%.
Mr. Anastasiades described as fully understandable the concern and concern that parents have regarding the vaccinations of children, but called on them to trust the scientific community.
