A taxi driver in Paphos, of Georgian descent, allegedly beat up a customer who ended up in hospital.
The unprecedented incident took place for as yet unknown reasons on Friday night and while the 40-year-old taxi driver was carrying a pair of Latvian tourists who arrived in Paphos on holiday.
According to the Police, from the attack, the tourist suffered fractures in the limbs and was transferred to Paphos Hospital for further treatment. An arrest warrant was issued against the Georgian taxi driver and he is wanted.
The same evening, the protagonist of another episode was again a resident of Paphos who comes from Georgia. This is a 19-year-old man who, according to a complaint by a compatriot, injured him by hitting him. In this case, too, the 19-year-old alleged perpetrator disappeared before the police arrived and is wanted on the basis of an arrest warrant.
