The Municipality of Pegeia is the first local authority to make such an obvious "restart" in matters of civil marriages in the post-pandemic era. Although the complete normalization of the civil marriage industry has not yet been achieved, however, a visible improvement is recorded already from the beginning of 2022 in the Municipality of Pegeia. Bookings for the rest of this year have an obvious upward trend compared to 2020 and 2021, while some ceremonies that due to the special circumstances were not held as originally planned, have not been cancelled, but have been postponed to 2022.
This is pointed out by the officials of the Municipality of Pegeia, expressing their satisfaction for the resumption of the whole activity, which is one of the main financial revenues of the municipal authority. Pegeia is traditionally considered one of the most popular destinations on an international level for the celebration of civil marriages, due to the great natural landscapes it offers.
Similar mobility is observed, even to a lesser extent, in the other municipal authorities of the province, the Municipalities of Pafos and Geroskipou, where according to our information and from here it is expressed the belief that 2022 will mean the complete return of the civil marriage industry to the high levels of the pre-pandemic era.
