LIMASSOL CARNIVAL - AT THE CAROB MILLS & PATTIHIO THEATRE - 24 February to 6 March

The big events such as that of Tsiknopempti, the children's parade and the great carnival parade may have been postponed for the second consecutive year in Limassol, however, this year the municipality has prepared properly and has prepared a different 10-day carnival events, adapted to the health measures against the pandemic.

This year, the heart of the Limassol Carnival will "beat" at the Carob Mill and the Pattichio Municipal Theatre with the municipality having prepared a multitude of beautiful events, performances, concerts and exhibitions. "The largest cultural institution of the city is being readjusted and will take place with the current measures against the pandemic," mayor Nikos Nikolaidis told "F", noting that this year the municipality will offer a very quality entertainment to the world through the events that will take place in the Carob Mill and Pattichio. He stressed that the events aim to offer people fun and optimism for a better tomorrow.

He pointed out that the events were adapted based on sanitary measures, noting that even in difficult times, traditions are not abandoned. "There will be a series of events that will appeal to the whole world regardless of age." These are, as he said, events that concern tradition and the modern carnival, adding that this year the heart of the carnival "beats" in Carob Mill.

In her statements to the "F", the cultural officer of the municipality, Skevi Antoniadou, said that the 10-day carnival event will begin from February 24, on Tsiknopempti, where the coronation of this year's queen of the carnival, Vera Efthymiou Parlalidou, will take place at the Municipal Hall.

Regarding the rest of the events, he noted that there will be various performances and events even for young children who are the future carnivalists. "An integral part of the Limassol Carnival is the serenaders so this year along with their chariots they will visit the districts of the city and with their serenades and nostalgic songs, they will offer joy and fun to the citizens", said among others Mr. Antoniadou.

The events will start from February 24 and will last until March 6. In the Carob Mill there will be daily from February 27 to March 6 events for children, musical and theatrical performances and various exhibitions related to carnivals. On the other hand, in Pattichio will take place on the first Saturday, February 26, the performance "Ertan the Lifted" and will be followed by another one next Saturday.
