Two deaths were recorded today in Cyprus according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health. At the same time, 2,698 new cases of coronavirus were identified from 132,177 diagnostic tests performed today, with the positivity rate standing at 2.04%.
The deaths relate to:
Woman, aged 90, who died on February 20
Man, aged 80, who died on February 21
Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 825.
164 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
40 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/13 intubated, PPE: 27)
Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 68.91%
27 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 132,177 diagnostic tests were performed
- 2,698 new cases were identified (total cases 308,917).
- Positivity rate in total exams 2.04%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 9,456 molecular tests were performed
- There were 342 positive cases
- Positivity rate 3.62%
- Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):
- 122,721 rapid antigen tests were performed
- There were 2,356 positive cases
- Positivity rate 1.92%
Tracking:
- 389 molecular tests were performed and 32 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 8.23%)
- 1,042 rapid antigen tests were performed and 94 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.02%)
Private initiative:
- 1,875 molecular tests were performed, 208 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11.09%)
- 63,945 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,512 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.36%)
Through the health ministry's programs, 58,776 rapid antigen tests were performed. 844 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 19,094 rapid detection tests identified 468 positive cases (positivity rate 2.45%)
Education
- Primary Education: 18,536 rapid antigen tests, 71 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.38%)
- Secondary Education: 10,427 rapid screening tests identified 64 positive cases (positivity rate 0.61%)
- Test-to-Stay: 5,498 rapid antigen tests were performed and 68 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.24%)
- Special Schools: 855 rapid antigen tests were performed and 14 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.64%)
Other
- National Guard: 297 rapid antigen tests were performed and 8 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.69%)
- Nursing homes: 1,376 rapid antigen tests were performed, 52 positive cases identified (positivity rate 3.78%)
- Closed structures: 21 rapid antigen tests were carried out and no new cases identified
- Government Agencies: 1,337 rapid antigen tests were performed and 5 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.37%)
- Industrial Areas: 293 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases identified
