2,646 NEW CASES, 3 DEATHS - Tuesday 15 February

Another three deaths due to coronavirus were announced today by the Ministry of Health, while in the last 24 hours another 2,646 new positive cases of the virus have been identified.

Analytically:

  • 3 deaths reported
  • They concern:
    • Man, aged 79, who died on February 14
    • Man, aged 66, who died on February 14
    • Woman, aged 66, who died on February 15
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 791.
  • 181 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 43 in serious condition (0 in ICU/13 intubated, 30 in PPE)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 69.62%
  • 31 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 104,708 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,646 new cases were identified (total cases 295,686).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 2.53%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 7,174 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 449 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 6.26%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 97,534 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 2,197 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 2.25%

 Tracking:

  • 510 molecular tests were performed and 89 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 17.45%)
  • 1,022 rapid antigen tests were performed and 59 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.77%)

Private initiative:

  • 2,014 molecular tests were performed, 267 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.26%)
  • 39,711 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,310 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.3%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 57,823 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 887 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 16,137 rapid detection tests detected 464 positive cases (positivity rate 2.88%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 20,638 rapid antigen tests, 151 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.73%)
  • Secondary Education: 12,225 rapid screening tests identified 105 positive cases (positivity rate 0.86%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 5,386 rapid antigen tests were performed and 82 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.52%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 1,245 rapid antigen tests were performed, 20 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.61%)
  • Closed structures: 149 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2 new cases were identified (positivity rate 1.34%).
  • Government Agencies: 1,021 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.39%)
