2,322 NEW CASES, FIVE DEATHS - Tuesday 22 February

Another five deaths due to coronavirus were announced by the Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours, while the positive cases of the virus reached 2,322.

Analytically:

5 deaths reported

  • They concern:
    • Man, aged 71, who died on February 21
    • Woman, aged 84, who died on February 21
    • Woman, aged 77, who died on February 21
    • Woman, aged 46, who died on February 22
    • Woman, aged 74, who died on February 22
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 830.
  • 157 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 43 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/11 intubated, PPE: 32)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 70.07%
  • 25 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 104,793 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,322 new cases were identified (total cases 311,239).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 2.22%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 7,585 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 381 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 5.02%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 97,208 rapid antigen tests performed
  • There were 1,941 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 2%

 Tracking:

  • 549 molecular tests were performed and 52 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.47%)
  • 842 rapid antigen tests were performed and 82 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.74%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,911 molecular tests were performed, 258 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.5%)
  • 41,397 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,122 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.71%)

Through the health ministry's programs, 55,811 rapid antigen tests were performed. 819 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 16,295 rapid detection tests identified 465 positive cases (positivity rate 2.85%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 20,424 rapid antigen tests, 119 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.58%)
  • Secondary Education: 11,676 rapid screening tests identified 91 positive cases (positivity rate 0.78%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 4,646 rapid antigen tests were performed and 49 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.05%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 995 rapid antigen tests were performed, 10 positive cases identified (positivity rate 1.01%)
  • Government Agencies: 933 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.32%)
